The pain that originates
from the joints, nerves, muscles, bones or other structures in the spine is
basically referred to as the back pain. The back pain may originate all of a
sudden or it may be constant for a particular interval of time. Also the back
pain may be restricted to some areas or it may radiate to other areas too. A
human back is composed of a very complex structure. It consists of different
segments like muscles, tendons, disks, and bones and the whole of the spine is cushioned
with cartilage.
Following are the sum of
the cause of back pain:
Strained muscles
Strained ligaments
Lifting something improperly
Lifting something that is too heavy
Due to an abrupt and awkward movement
A muscle spasm
Some structural spine problems may also be related to the back
pain. Some of these include Ruptured
disks (this will be the cause of pressure on a nerve that is cushioned by a
particular disk), sciatica (a sharp pain due to a herniated disk that travels through
the buttock and down the back of the leg), arthritis (the persons suffering from arthritis may develop spinal
stenosis that narrows the space around spinal cord), abnormal curvature of the spine, Osteoporosis (compression fractures
due to brittleness of the spine).
